Carmen Zapata

Serving as the Night Commissioner of the city of Barcelona since late 2024, she is one of the most prominent professionals in the live music sector. For nearly two decades (2006-2024), she was the director of the Association of Concert Halls of Catalonia (ASACC), consolidating the organization as a key agent in the representation and defense of concert venues.

Between 2013 and 2024, she served as the artistic director of Curtcircuit, a series dedicated to the local scene and regional venues, which was recognized with the Ciutat de Barcelona Music Award. During the pandemic, she organized over three hundred concerts that played a decisive role in the reactivation of the sector.

As a founding member and former president of the Association of Women in the Music Industry (2016-2023), she has been an active advocate for gender equality and diversity, and represented the association at the Observatory for Gender Equality in the Cultural Sector. In 2021, she received the Keychange Award in recognition of her career.

With over twenty years of experience in musical leadership and associative work, she combines strategic vision, institutional commitment, and a clear dedication to live music as a fundamental pillar of the city's cultural and nightlife scene.
