There was a time when makina and bakalao defined the nights of an entire generation in Spain. Then, between the late 90s and early 2000s, the genre almost completely disappeared, stigmatised and forgotten. What nobody expected was for it to come back with such force: a new generation that never lived those nights has rediscovered these sounds and turned them into a mass phenomenon, filling venues and festivals that sell out within hours.
